How To Get More FPS In Games

Do you have problems with your games recently? Are you one of those who experience heavy lag and stuttering while gaming? We all want more FPS(frames per second) in our games, right? Because more FPS means smooth,stutter-free gaming. Then try these simple tips now and they can take your gaming experience to a whole new level. Check it out.

1.Closing all background apps

Each and every app that you open in the background will take some amount of your computer resources. If you have an opened browser in the background, the games you play will be having performance issues since browsers are notoriously known for consuming more RAM. It goes the same for all CPU and GPU intense applications. So it’s important to make sure that no unnecessary apps are opened.

To find which are the apps that are running in the background, go to the task manager by clicking CTRL+SHIFT+ESC. Here you can find all the apps and their resource usage. Select the app and press the end task to close the application. You can close any third-party applications running in the background but do not close any of the windows processors.

2.Updating graphics drivers

A graphics driver is the software that allow your operating system and programs such as games to use your computer's graphics hardware. This can enhance game performance, because hardware device manufacturer will update the driver for their device after some new games are released or if they found a bug in the driver software.

If you are having an AMD graphics card, you can go to the link provided below:

In case of Nvidia, follow this link:

3.Changing in-game graphics settings

Almost all the modern 'AAA' titles requires advanced computer hardware. So if your system specs doesn't match with the recommended requirements of the game, you might want to lower the graphics settings from ultra to high or medium. Keeping certain graphics options such as V-Sync, Anti-aliasing, and Anisotropic filtering disabled can help incrementing FPS since they are more quality-focused features which needs more computing resources.

4.Making changes to the graphics driver

Both AMD and Nvidia drivers provide different game-enhancing features. While AMD provides features such as Radeon Image Sharpening and Radeon Anti-Lag, Nvidia offers NVIDIA ANSEL and Freestyle. But not all the options are great for all the games. So try tweaking those and find the optimal combination for your game. Also, make sure that all the graphics settings for the game are the same in both driver settings and in-game settings.

5.Disabling antivirus software

Yes, I know you may have heard about it over a thousand times but it’s still worth considering. Although this is a good security measure, the 'Real-time scanning' capability which will scan all the files when the game tries to access it each time can cause the FPS to drop drastically.

If you are using Windows defender, you can do the same by following these steps:
Go to settings>update&security>windows security >virus&threat protection>manage settings>toggle the button to OFF in Real-Time Protection section.

6.Hardware overclocking

Your computer’s CPU/GPU comes from the factory fixed value to run at a certain maximum speed. If you run your hardware at a higher speed with proper cooling, it should perform fine without giving you any problems. Increasing a component’s clock rate causes it to perform more operations per second which results in improved performance. You can overclock CPU, GPU, and RAM to squeeze more juice out of your rig. But always make sure that overclocking does not increase the temperature beyond a certain limit. CPU and RAM overclocking are usually done in the BIOS settings.
You can try some GPU overclocking using the MSI Afterburner utility software. Link is provided below:

7.Using RAZER CORTEX for optimization

RAZER is a company known for understanding gamers and their needs since 2005. In 2018, they released their new game optimization tool called RAZOR CORTEX. It is widely accepted among the gaming community for providing better gaming performance. CORTEX has a wide variety of tuning options for gamers. Try it now from the link below:

⏩Still not getting any improvement in FPS? Then it might be the time for upgrading your hardware. A GPU with more VRAM? A CPU with more cores and higher clock rate?  An upgrade from HDD to SSD/M.2 storage? Or More RAM with higher memory speed?  It’s up to you to decide. But I do recommend upgrading components in the same order as i mentioned above.
