How To Use System Restore In Windows 10

Are you facing any issues on your PC after installing a software or a driver update?๐Ÿ˜ช Want to go back in time to undo the changes you made? That’s where the system restore point comes handy. Windows automatically create restore points whenever you install or update something so that if something goes wrong, you can always come back to the point where everything was stable. But hey, want to know how this thing helped me? So one day I was tweaking the registry and I accidently deleted a series of registry keys named as ‘Wow6432Node’ which is used for separating view of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE for 32-bit applications that run on 64-bit Windows versions๐Ÿ˜‘. The next second my PC started restarting itself several times and it failed to boot. I tried everything to get it booted to windows. Even tried to reset the entire PC, but an error came and it didn’t work. Then I came to know about restore point and tried it. It took about 3 hours, but finally I was able to get everything as before thanks to this feature. LESSON LEARNED: Never mess with windows registry๐Ÿ˜„.

How to create a restore point?
Although windows automatically create one, you can always manually create a restore point before making any changes just to be safe. To create one,
Press Win Key+S and type ‘create a restore point’ and hit enter. Click on create on the pop-up window.

Give it a name so that you can recognize it later and click create. That’s it!✔

How to use system restore point?
For undo changes, go to the same window and click on system restore and next.
From here, click on the restore point which you have created and press next then finish. Your PC will now start to restore to a previous state๐Ÿ‘. Give it some time to finish and you will be able to see the changes in your PC. Don’t worry about your documents, pictures and videos since no changes will be done to user files๐Ÿ‘.
