Ampere vs RDNA 2-The Story So Far

With the launch of next-gen consoles, now we have a clear understanding about the RDNA 2 architecture which will be powering the upcoming AMD GPUs. ‘Ampere’ is the successor of ‘Turing’ architecture from team green which announced on mid-May, 2020 by none other than Jensen Huang-CEO of Nvidia. Now we also know that RDNA 2 GPUs will be coming to PC first before next-gen consoles🤩. We are getting more and more leaks about these day by day and the leaks tend to be more accurate when it’s getting close to the actual release date. So take them all with a pinch of salt since they can be wrong sometimes🙊.

What to expect?
Well, we can definitely expect a ton of improvement in performance and features from both AMD and Nvidia👏. In fact, RDNA 2 powered GPUs will be having the much-awaited ray-racing feature on hardware-level and a 50% more improvement over RDNA with optimized 7nm+ process node👍. Many experts suggest that the forthcoming AMD GPUs will be able to outperform current champ-the RTX 2080ti🙌. But according to the latest leaks, RTX 3080ti is rumored to feature a 384 bit GDDR6 memory bus with a whopping 5376 CUDA cores which will make it 40% faster than the 2080ti🥰. Then again AMD is already developing RDNA 3 on advanced node which is expected to arrive somewhere in 2022.
Recently there was a major leak which show the upcoming RTX 3000 series GPUs with an all new cooler design. We don’t even know will it be called as RTX 3080ti. But the new reference design has two blower fans on either side of the board. Again, we have no way of knowing whether this is genuine or not🤷‍♂️. Besides someone even created a 3D render animation of the RTX 3080 based on the leaked images. Check it out, it looks so cool👌.

On the other hand, AMD seems to be more secretive about their products that we don’t even have the names of upcoming GPUs☹. Most of the information that we know came from the console spec details.
So, what do you think about these? You think the Ampere will help Nvidia to stay at top of the game or AMD will be able to take the entire market with their RDNA 2?🤔 Let me know in the comments. Personally, i think Nvidia will remain as the king of gaming industry with top of the line performance with the new Ampere architecture😎. But AMD ain't gonna make the race easy for the green team. Anyway, competition is always good for consumers💯. So let us all remain calm and wait for the official releases which is expected in Q3, 2020. GG mate!🤗
