Is Next-Gen Gaming Consoles powerful than a PC?

It’s been quite some time since we started hearing about the next generation gaming consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X🎮. And it was quite impressive on spec sheet at least with support for stunning 8K visuals with ray tracing enabled🤩. Even the Microsoft itself said once that the ‘Series X will have four times more performance than the current gen Xbox One’. Also both Sony and Microsoft announced that the next-gen consoles will be backward compatible with previous generation games. So whether you choose either of these, a great performance boost is assured✔.

Recently, Epic games released a demo of Unreal engine 5 running on PS5. The whole industry was stunned by the super-high detail on game world😍. A technology called ‘nanite’ made it possible which will allow developers to import their models in full detail rather than down scaling it. Check it out now!
As we all know, both consoles will be powered by the 8 AMD Zen 2 cores and 16 gigs of GDDR6 RAM. PS5 will feature a custom AMD Radeon RDNA Navi 10.28 Teraflops whereas the Xbox will have a superior custom Radeon RNDA Navi 12 Teraflops. And for the first time in forever, both consoles will see an SSD (Solid State Drive) rather than a HDD inside them😀. Although SSDs was available for PC for a very long time, Sony claims that it’s custom built SSD will be much faster than what is available to PC market at speed of 5.5GB/s. To be clear, this is not true since there are many storage solutions with double that bandwidth for PC enthusiasts🤷‍♂️. But maybe they are talking about the new I/O pipelining with 12 channel memory controller units.

Is it really better than a PC?
The answer is NO! There are a couple of things to note here👇.
One, both of these consoles are expected to launch in holiday, 2020. But  AMD 4th gen Ryzen CPU and the mighty Nvidia RTX 3000 series are also rumoured to launch in September (Q3), this year. So, even before they launch, PC will be way ahead in terms of performance😎. Nice try there consolers😜. Two, forget about the rumours of upcoming launches because even the existing PC hardware is enough for competing with the next-gen PS5. Don't believe me? Well, according to Epic Games CTO Kim Libreri, a modern PC build with an Nvidia RTX 2070 super can run that demo and results will be “pretty good”😉. If 2070 super can do that, what about a 2080 ti or even a Titan RTX?😊 So there you have it! But don’t be sad if you are a console gamer. Because what you are about to get is much better than what you have right now👏. What do you think about this new consoles? Let me know in comments. GG mate!
